Four reasons why we believe in Slow Fashion
“Sustainable fashion”, “conscious closet”, “sustainable clothing” or “slow fashion” are different terms that are probably familiar to you but you may don’t know them in-depth. All of them are related in one way or another and we will end up talking about them in the future. Although today we would love specifically to write a few lines about the “slow fashion” concept and the reasons why we truly believe in it.
For those who don’t know what Slow Fashion actually means, we’d love to share a clear definition from Kat Collings, the Editor in Chief at Who What Wear.
“Slow fashion is about consuming and creating fashion consciously and with integrity. It connects social and environmental awareness and responsibility with the pleasure of wearing beautiful, well-made, and lasting clothing (as compared to the immediate gratification of fast Fashion)”.
For us, as a brand that cares about Mother Earth, Slow Fashion is all about to ensure quality production, to give value to the product we’re making, and last but not least, to contemplate the connection with the environment. The movement itself works towards creating an industry that benefits both the planet and all people. And there’s no need to say that our most desired dream would be to be able to get rid of the “fast fashion” concept and to consider “Slow fashion” as the only way of consuming.
There’s still a long way of hard work to get to this happens but every little change means a lot to the fashion industry. And us, as a brand, we had it clear since the very first beginning. Here the four main reasons why we believe in Slow Fashion.

NO MASS PRODUCTION: We love the passion for authenticity, craftsmanship, and durable products that stand for a lifetime.

“LESS IS MORE”: We believe in “Less is more” approach to living. That is the reason why we produce a limited amount of designs to minimize waste. And as we don’t want to overwhelm our customers (we like to call them “community”) with so many choices, we previously have selected only a handful of designs that provide them the best fit and comfort. We truly believe in “buy only the things you really love”.

FUNCTIONAL DESIGN: We create Swimwear pieces with biodegradable nylon, which are unique and outstanding. These bikinis and beach accessories are born because we couldn’t find them in the stores.

WORKING WITH THE BEST PARTNERS: Although our collections are born and designed in Mallorca, we produce in a small seamstress workshop located in a municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro, called Nova Friburgo. They are developed with great care and with a keen eye for detail. We have built a strong relationship with the workshop and we visit them regularly to discuss the process and the quality of the goods. We commit to providing our customers with full transparency on how our designs are made.
We would love to raise awareness of the benefits of slow fashion. Our objective is to encourage our community to learn about all the side effects of fast fashion and how actually their clothes are made. The important is to choose carefully when buying, don’t forget that.
